A prescription is the authorisation from a licensed prescriber allowing a pharmacy to dispense a particular medicine to a particular person, including the drug, strength, quantity, directions, and number of refills.
A prescription is written for one person after an assessment of that person. Sharing prescription medicine with someone else, even with good intentions, bypasses that assessment.
