Who this policy covers

This policy describes Hydroxyzine.org, an independent educational website about hydroxyzine operated for general public information. It does not create a clinician–patient relationship. If you use our contact form, you choose what to send us; please do not include detailed medical records unless necessary.

Information we may collect

  • Technical logs. Standard server logs may include IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp for security and performance. We configure logging to avoid recording POST bodies from tools or contact forms.
  • Analytics aggregates. Page views and referral sources in summary form to understand which content is useful.
  • Contact submissions. Name, email and message content if you contact us.
  • Cookies. Session cookies for admin areas and, where enabled, advertising or analytics cookies described in consent banners.

What we do not collect by design

  • Journal entries. The private medication journal is intended to use browser storage on your device; we do not receive those entries unless you explicitly export or email them yourself.
  • Question-builder answers when generated client-side.
  • Navigator selections beyond ephemeral session tokens with short TTL where server assist is enabled.

Tool pages explain storage behaviour in plain language. If implementation changes, this policy will be updated.

How we use information

We use collected information to operate and secure the site, respond to contact messages, fix errors reported by readers, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use contact messages for marketing without consent.

Sharing

We may use service providers for hosting, email delivery and advertising networks. They process data under contract for defined purposes. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety.

Retention and deletion

Contact messages are retained as long as needed to handle the inquiry and maintain a corrections record if relevant, then deleted on a rolling schedule unless law requires longer retention. You may request deletion via our contact page.

Children

This site is written for adults and caregivers. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Local tools and analytics boundaries

Interactive tools are designed so journal contents stay on your device. Aggregate analytics may record that a tool page was opened, not what you typed into a private journal. Contact messages you send are stored to respond and then retained only as long as needed under the site’s retention settings. You can request deletion of contact records through the contact form.

Advertising, analytics and health tools

Where advertising or analytics cookies are used, they support site operations and must not receive private journal contents or question-builder answers. Aggregate events such as “tool page viewed” may be recorded without the text you typed. You can clear local journal data at any time from the tool page. Contact records follow a rolling retention default and can be deletion-requested.
